Riverside—The West Coast Baseball League and the Alaska Baseball League each recently announced their end-of-season, All-League selections, and three members of the Highlanders—Cody Hough, Alex Rubanowitz and Kevin Sprague—were among those honored with post-season accolades.
announced its All-WCL teams last week, and Cody Hough was named to the honored with first-team selections. Alaska Baseball League also announced their All-ABL teams in August as UC Riverside's second-baseman Alex Rubanowitz and left-handed relief pitcher Kevin Sprague were both selected to ABL first-team.
Hough paced the WCL with eight home runs, while finishing fourth in runs scored (36) and batting .304 on the year. He also represented the Klamath Fall Gems in the WCL All-Star Game, winning the 2013 WCL All-Star Game Home Run Derby.
Rubanowitz finished ninth in the league in RBIs and stolen bases, while boasting a .989 fielding percentage for the ABL Champion Alaska Goldpanners. Sprague was also a member of the Goldpanners, and he led the league in saves with nine while striking out 18 batters and walking just three in 24.1 innings of work.
