Cougars announce affiliation with Peterborough Petes

COBOURG - The Cobourg Cougars announced this morning that they will be affiliating with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League.

"The Peterborough Petes are very pleased to begin a new affiliation starting this fall with the Cobourg Cougars Jr. A Hockey Club" says Petes General Manager David Reid. "The Cougars join the Lindsay Muskies as one of our two Ontario Junior Hockey League affiliates for the upcoming season. Cobourg Cougars Director of Hockey Operations, Perry Bowles, and Head Coach, Curtis Hodgins, are extremely well respected in the OJHL and will provide an excellent environment for our prospects to develop and reach their hockey goals."

Director of Hockey Operations, Perry Bowles, was looking to affiliate with an OHL club this year when the opportunity to do so arose with the Petes. "This affiliation fits our player development model perfectly", said Bowles. "The Petes, led by Dave Reid, are a storied franchise with a long history of developing players, and with this partnership the Cougars are looking forward to our players development into higher levels of hockey"

"Having the opportunity for more of our young prospects to play at the OJHL level and the close proximity of Cobourg to Peterborough allows us a greater opportunity to see their development first hand. I look forward to working closely with both the Cobourg Cougars and the Lindsay Muskies this season and in the future," says Reid.
