PANTHERS ADD FORMER NHL D-MAN OLSEN
Nottingham Panthers have added defenceman Dylan Olsen to their roster for the 2018/19 season.
Olsen is a former first round draft pick (28th overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks, appearing in 128 NHL games for the Blackhawks and Florida Panthers as well as more than 200 AHL games for Rockford, San Antonio, Portland and Binghamton during his career to date.
Standing 6’2” and 223lbs, Olsen won an NCAA championship as a member of the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in 2011, picking up a silver medal at the IIHF World Junior Championships as a member of Team Canada during the same season.
The 27-year-old spent the bulk of last season with the ECHL Adirondack Thunder, registering 23 points in 50 games for the Thunder, with a further seven points in 17 playoff games.
There is something of a family feel to the Panthers latest signing too, with Dylan following in the footsteps of father Darryl, who played for East Midlands side during the 1996/97 season.
