Hamilton Red Wings alumnus Tyler Gaudet made his National Hockey League debut Monday night, joining the Arizona Coyotes for their game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 21-year-old Gaudet played the 2010-11 season with the Red Wings. Breaking into the Ontario Junior Hockey League at age 17, he had four goals and 15 assists for 19 points in 41 games.

Gaudet moved up to the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the 2011-12 season. After recording five points in 32 games with the Olympiques, he was sent down to the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Canada Hockey League. In 47 games over parts of two seasons with the Lumber Kings, he recorded 38 points, and earned himself a second chance in major junior. This time, it was the Ontario Hockey League's Soo Greyhounds who came calling.

Though he didn't raise a lot of eyebrows in the early going with the Greyhounds, Gaudet took the OHL by storm in 2013-14. his first full season in the Soo. He averaged nearly a point-per-game with 61 points in 65 games, and nearly broke the 30-goal mark. By the end of the year, he had earned the Greyhounds' award for Most Improved Player, as well as a three-year NHL entry-level contract with the Arizona Coyotes.

Gaudet began this year with the Coyotes' American Hockey League affiliate in Portland, but it didnt take long for Arizona to realize his potential in their lineup, calling him up on December 28.

Congratulations to Tyler Gaudet on his NHL debut!
