NEWSDate: Mar 01, 2010 HAVOC PICKS UP POINT ON ROAD TRIP
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc finished up one point on a three-game road trip by going 1-2 over the weekend.
Friday, February 26 - Huntsville 3, Columbus 2, OT COLUMBUS, GA - Mike MacDonald scored a powerplay goal with 1:07 left in overtime giving the Huntsville Havoc a 3-2 win over the Columbus Cottonmouths Friday night. Jordan Foote gave the Havoc an early 1-0 lead withjust 6:38 gone in the second period. Columbus responded with goals by Ryan McCarthy and Jesse Cole and the Cottonmouths had a 2-1 lead after two periods of play. Jeff White tied the game at 2-2 with 16:05 left in the third. Mark Sibbald made 35 saves in the win while Ian Vigier made 42 in the loss.
Saturday, February 27 - Huntsville 2, Mississippi 3 BILOXI, MS - The Huntsville Havoc contined to struggle against the Mississippi Surge this time falling 3-2 on the road Saturday night. Matt Zultek scored two goals and Michael Ricard scored one for the Surge. Mike Carter and Mike MacDonald scored the only two goals for the Havoc. Mark Sibbald made 25 saves in the loss while Bill Zanoboni made 24 in the loss.
Sunday, February 28 - Huntsville 2, Columbus 5 COLUMBUS, GA - The Huntsville Havoc finished up a three-game road trip by falling 5-2 to the Columbus Cottonmouths Sunday afternoon. The Havoc fell behind 2-0 early on Columbus goals by Tim Green and Sam Bowles. Jeff White would cut the score to 2-1 on a powerplay goal before Brent Clarke pushed the score to 3-1 late in the first period. Tom McMonagle and Jesse Cole would push the lead to 5-1 with second period goals before Martin Kubaliak would finish off the scoring for both teams with a third period goal. Dan McWhinney started for the Havoc and allowed two goals and made 12 saves. He was replaced by Mark Sibbald who took the loss and allowed three goals and made 22 saves. Chad Rycroft got the win for Columbus by making 47 saves.
