UIHC Scholarships Awarded
THE AWARDS:
The Unionville Ice Hockey Club has established a $500 scholarship to encourage higher education, recongize exemplary performance by club players, and promote the values of teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and loyalty, which are learned in a well managed ice hockey program. Seniors with at least 2 years tenure in the club are eligible and the Scholarship Committee considers the applicants’ academic record, citizenship, sportsmanship, leadership and athletic achievements when determining the winners. This year we have three winners.
THE WINNERS:
Annabeth Donovan – Soon to be attending Princeton University, Annabeth has consistently recorded Distinguished Honors throughout high school, and is a four time winner of the Bobby Clarke MVP award and a two time winner of the Leading Points award at the Flyers Cup. In addition to many other athletic awards for field hockey and lacrosse, she volunteers at the Kennett Senior Center, organized Run For Our Sons for the last four years, and helps coach the U12 and U14 field hockey teams. Congratulations Annabeth!!
Kylie Topp – Soon to be attending Auburn University, Kylie has consistently recorded Academic Honors throughout high school, and participated as a defenseman on the Flyers Cup championship team all four years of high school. In addition to traveling to Spain for the soccer Donasti cup, she’s traveled to Rwanda as part of the Young Life program and currently works at Ducklings as an assistant teacher in the 2 year old class. Congratulations Kylie!
Lilly Henjes – Accepted to multiple accredited universities, Lilly has consistently recorded High or Distinguished Honors throughout high school, is a member of the National Honors and French Honors societies, and was captain of the Unionville Ice Hockey team in her senior year and assistant captain during the preceding years. She volunteers at the Kennett Senior Center, participates in the Habitat for Humanity Restore program, and has been a counselor at the Sandy Hill Summer Camp for the past two years. Congratulations Lilly!!
