Ridley needs OT to defeat Haverford HS 8-7
Haverford High scored the first 3 goals of the game with 2 by Dante Gattone and 1 by Daniel Quartapella.
Ridley answered with goals by Michael Sesio and Michael Giampapa, and the 1st period ended 3-2 in favor of HH.
Early in the 2nd period, Michael Sesio scored his 2nd of the game, to knot the game at 3. Dante Gattone scored his 3rd of the game with 10 minutes gone in the 2nd period, to give the Fords the lead again at 4-3. John Scarduzio extended the lead for HH 3 minutes later and the 2nd period ended with HH holding a 5-3 lead.
Brett Dunning scored early in the 3rd period on a Ridley power play to narrow the gap, but then Alex Gattone gave Haverford High a 2 goal lead again with 10 minutes to go. Midway through the 3rd period, Ridley exploded for 3 goals of their own in a span of 81 seconds! Brian Lefkof scored for Ridley at the 12:12 minute mark of the 3rd, followed by Michael Desio's 3rd of the game just 21 second later to tie the game at 6. Michael Giampapa scored 1 minute later to give Ridley their 1st lead of the day at 7-6.
HH did not throw in the towel as Danted gattone continued his hot hand soring his 4th of the game to tie the game at 7 with just 1:45 left in regulation..
Game went to overtime when midway through Brett Dinning scored on the Power Pay to give Ridley the win.
