National Ball Hockey League

Pacific North West Division

We’re here with the National Ball Hockey League to introduce you to our league, format, and see if anyone is interested in joining us! The NBHL is the country’s first nation wide ball hockey league, set to begin in April 2021. The NBHL is the only league sanctioned by USA Ball Hockey, the governing body of the sport in the USA!

For those of you who don’t know, ball hockey is hockey on feet. No ice skates, no roller skates, no ice. Its played on a surface called dek that is made of plastic that allows the hockey ball to glide like a puck. Just gloves, stick, a helmet, shin pads, and a pair of running shoes or basketball shoes and you’re good to go!

We are currently working on creating our division in the Pacfic Northwest. As of today, we have 6-8 teams being formed. Our current teams are based out of Portland, Tacoma, and Seattle. Our games will be played in Portland and Seattle. The league will involve some travel back and forth between Seattle and Portland which is explained in the schedule below.

Our other divisions are located in Chicago, Massachusetts, Pittsburgh, New Jersey (Division 1 and Division 2), New England, Texas, and Washington D.C. As of today we have 60 teams. Each division has up to 10 teams that are within a reasonable proximity to each other. These divisions have a 10 game regular season within its own teams starting in April and ending in July. Playoffs go from July to August, with each division crowning its own champion. In September, all of the division champions meet for the “Mylec Cup” - a weekend long tournament to determine the NBHL Champion. As of today, the plan is to have this tournament in Washington, D.C.

Every game of every division will be recorded and cut into highlight reels. All of our social media accounts will post graphics with standings, schedule, stats, etc every week. Each games highlight reel and box score will get posted every week. We will also be releasing top plays of the week and a ton of other content surrounding the league throughout the season.

The NBHL rosters consists of players from the USA Ball Hockey Mens National team and Junior national teams, as well as current and former professional ice hockey players. The talent level is legit and the competition is tough. But the thing is - anyone can play. Anyone can join a team, come to the hockey rink once a week, run around for an hour, and feel like a professional athlete going against the best competition the country has to offer.

We hope to grow the NBHL in the Pacific Northwest. We love the sports culture out here and look forward to the growth of hockey in the area with the Kraken.
