Press release: SCOTT STEVENS NAMED INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

CAMBRIDGE, ONTARIO – The Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) and its Board of Directors has announced Scott Stevens has been promoted to serve as interim Executive Director of the OHA and will assume the role as of April 1, 2019.

Stevens most recently served as OHA Director of Hockey Operations and has been with the OHA since 2009 when he joined the association in a Membership Services role before being named Director of Hockey Operations in 2018. His responsibilities include Supplemental Discipline and suspension tracking, affiliation management, Statistics and OHA Special Events among other items. He also worked directly with the former President and Executive Director on managing projects for Hockey Canada and the Ontario Hockey Federation on behalf of the OHA.

As interim Executive Director, Stevens will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the OHA and he will report to the OHA Board of Directors through the Chairman of the Board.

Stevens' Junior hockey playing career dates back to age 14 when he began in the OHA with the Junior B Elmira Sugar Kings from 1988-1990 moving onto the Jr. B Waterloo Siskins from 1991-1993 and was part of the 1991 Sutherland Cup Champion Siskins.

Once his Junior career wrapped up, Stevens received a scholarship to St. Lawrence University in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (NCAA) and played four seasons (1993-1997) with the school’s men’s varsity hockey team being named captain from 1995-1997. In 1997, he graduated from St. Lawrence University and earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree.

After College, Stevens played two seasons in the Western Professional Hockey League (WPHL) with the Amarillo Rattlers and then spent the 1999-2000 season in Denmark where he played for the Danish Ice Hockey Federation’s Herning Blue Fox.

Scott and his wife reside in Kitchener, ON and are parents to daughters Quinn (8) and Kennedy (6).
