Huge game by Egan boosts Buffalo over Lindsay, 9-4

The Buffalo Jr. Sabres' Pat Egan had a big offensive game, scoring four goals and contributing one assist in his team's 9-4 win over the Lindsay Muskies.

Egan's first goal came 17:58 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:54 into the second, at 16:19 into the third, and at 19:33 into the third.

 

Buffalo's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Lindsay power plays. The Jr. Sabres kept Lindsay's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mathew Robson made 35 saves on 44 shots. Buffalo found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Jr. Sabres average 5.0 goals per contest.

Buffalo also got points from Max Mikowski, who also had two goals and one assist, Nico Gonzalez, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Tim Kielich, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Buffalo also got a goal from Chris Moses (APJ) as well. More assists for Buffalo came via Michael Ederer, who had one and Mason Evans, Ryan Kuhn, and Nolan Sheeran, who contributed two a piece.

The Muskies' offense rang up 34 shots on Buffalo's net.

Lindsay was helped by Austin Eastman, who grabbed two goals. Eastman scored the first of his two goals short handed at 3:43 into the second period to make the score 2-2. The Muskies played down a man on Brandon Washer's hooking. Eastman's next tally short handed made the score 5-4 Buffalo with 10:16 left in the third period. Lindsay additionally got points from Jake Ryan, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Bryce Sweeting also scored for Lindsay. Other players who recorded assists for Lindsay were Vince Herlihey, Patrick Morgan, and Stefan Von Egelbrechten, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Sabres' Brandon Mueller stopped 30 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Buffalo incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Lindsay incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
