St. Michaels outlasts Georgetown, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the St. Michaels Buzzers escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Georgetown Raiders.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Matt Alvaro's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

 

Bron Loiselle had a great game for St. Michaels, netting two goals. Loiselle scored on the power play at 14:33 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Georgetown and again while short handed 3:15 into the second to make the score 2-2.

The Buzzers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. St. Michaels' offense rang up 31 shots on Georgetown's net.

St. Michaels additionally got points from David Italiano, who also finished with one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Michaels received assists from Ian Edmondson, Jake Evans, and Mike Lansdowne, who each chipped in one.

The Buzzers were unable to stop the Raiders from sending pucks towards the net, and Georgetown eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

The Raiders were helped by John Adams, who had one goal. Adams scored 12:32 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Georgetown. Steve Midensky picked up the assist. Brendan Jacome also scored for Georgetown. More assists for Georgetown came via Gavin Shantz, Christian Burel, and Andrew Court, who contributed one a piece.

George Argiropoulos recorded 34 saves for St. Michaels. The Buzzers incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michael McNiven made 27 saves for Georgetown on 30 shots. The Raiders incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
