North York blows out Hamilton, 7-2

The North York Rangers had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 7-2 win over the Hamilton Red Wings.

 

Liam Kerins had four goals to lead North York to victory. Kerins' first goal came 1:22 into the first period. He then added goals at 13:27 into the first, at 10:54 into the third, and at 14:08 into the third.

Hamilton's six penalties came back to haunt it, as the Red Wings let up five goals while on the penalty kill.

The Rangers' offense rang up 41 shots on Hamilton's net. North York outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Rangers average 3.7 goals per contest.

North York also got points from Fung Zachary, who also registered one goal and one assist and Gabriel Valenzuela, who also had one goal and three assists. Tye Campbell also scored for North York. In addition, North York received assists from Corey Kalk, who had two, Alex Leader, who had three, and Ted Hunt, Jason Pucciarelli, Matthew Whittaker, and John Carpino, who contributed one a piece.

The Red Wings were led by Cole Poliziani, who finished with one goal. Poliziani scored 6:23 into the second period to make the score 4-2 North York. Mitch Reid provided the assist. Hamilton also got a goal from Connor Bramwell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Hamilton were Brandon Kolaski, Adam Burnett, and Joel Knight, who each chipped in one.

Jason Pucciarelli made 26 saves for North York on 28 shots. The Rangers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mark Sinclair recorded 34 saves for Hamilton. The Red Wings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
