Higley nets hat trick, leads Aurora to 8-3 win over Hamilton

Calvin Higley lifted the Aurora Tigers to an 8-3 victory with a hat trick against the Hamilton Red Wings.

Higley notched his first tally 10:58 into the first period. He then added goals at 19:47 into the first and at 3:48 into the third.

 

yAurora's offense rang up 40 shots on Hamilton's net. The Tigers surpassed their usual scoring output this season. yAurora averages 4.1 goals per game.

yAurora also got points from Taylor McCloy, who also finished with two goals and one assist, Kory Kennedy, who also had one goal and two assists, and Curtis Warren, who also racked up two goals and one assist. More assists for yAurora came via Dylan Sikura, who had four, Austin Rigney, Alex Gilmour, and Liam Neuman, who contributed one a piece, and Adam DiBrina and Robert Angiolella, who each chipped in two.

The Red Wings were helped by Alex Zaccaria, who registered one goal. Zaccaria scored 9:29 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hamilton. Connor Bramwell picked up the assist. Others who scored for Hamilton included Corey Caruso and Josh LaFrance, who each put in one. In addition, Hamilton received assists from Mitch Reid, who had one.

The Tigers' Andy Munroe stopped 22 shots out of the 25 that he faced. yAurora incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Corey Foster rejected 32 shots on goal for Hamilton. The Red Wings incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
