Oakville downs Lindsay, 5-2

Even with Joseph Vocino's two points, the Lindsay Muskies fell 5-2 to the Oakville Blades.

 

Oakville was led by Ross Sloan, who finished with one goal and one assist. Sloan scored on the power play 15:05 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Oakville. A spearing penalty on Brock Spear had put the Blades on the power play. Greg Campbell assisted on the tally.

Oakville's offense rang up 46 shots on Lindsay's net.

Oakville also got points from Kris Bennett, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Dalton Bew, who also had one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Oakville included Joe Seney and Matt Luff, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Oakville were Greg Allen, Chris Poletek, and Brendan McGlynn, who each chipped in one.

The Muskies forced the Blades goalie McGlynn to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

In addition, Lindsay received assists from Vince Herlihey, who had two and Michael Spataro and Austin Brown, who contributed one a piece.

Oakville's McGlynn stopped 35 shots out of the 37 that he faced. The Blades incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Mathew Robson made 41 saves for Lindsay on 46 shots. The Muskies totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 2-for-6 on the power play.
