North York's Kalk deadly on offense in 3-1 win against St. Michaels

Kalk scored at 9:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 North York and again while 8:37 into the third to make the score 3-1 North York.

 

The win by North York clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Rangers' Jason Pucciarelli was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 30 saves and let only one puck past him. Pucciarelli certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.53 entering the contest.

North York also got a goal from Gabriel Valenzuela as well. More assists for North York came via Adam Valadao, who had two and Patrick Piacentini, Matthew Whittaker, and John Carpino, who each chipped in one.

North York was unable to stop St. Michaels from sending pucks towards the net, and the Buzzers eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

St. Michaels was led by David Italiano, who scored the team's only goal. Italiano scored on the power play 8:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Buzzers had taken the advantage when the Rangers' Christian Zanetti got sent off for tripping. Jake Evans picked up the assist.

North York incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. George Argiropoulos made 25 saves for St. Michaels on 28 shots. The Buzzers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
