PETERSEN COMMITS TO YORK
Newmarket Hurricanes forward Trevor Petersen (photo credit - Brian Watts/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the York University Lions beginning with the 2014-15 OUA season.
The 20-year old Markham, Ontario native joined the Newmarket Hurricanes this season for his first and only season in the OJHL, after spending the previous two years with the OHL's Niagara IceDogs. Petersen led the Hurricanes to a playoff berth with a team high 31 goals and 65 points in 52 regular season games played, which ranked 8th and 14th respectively among all OJHL skaters. Petersen added two goals as the 'Canes were swept by Aurora in the first round of the playoffs.
