Buffalo rides Pianta to victory over Georgetown, 4-1

Joseph Pianta stood on his head and made 39 saves to lead the Buffalo Jr. Sabres to a 4-1 victory over the Georgetown Raiders.
The win gave Buffalo a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.
The Jr. Sabres were led by Pat Egan, who registered one goal. Egan scored 8:00 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Buffalo. Dylan Howatt assisted on the tally.
Buffalo's offense rang up 37 shots on Georgetown's net.
Buffalo also got points from Howatt, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Buffalo also had goals scored by Darren McCormick and Michael Ederer, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Buffalo were Ryan Kuhn, Jason Heerdt, and Nolan Sheeran, who each chipped in one.
The Raiders excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Georgetown's offense rang up 40 shots on the Jr. Sabres' net.
The Raiders were led by Liam Clare, who scored the team's only goal. Clare scored 8:40 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Georgetown.
Buffalo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Michael McNiven made 33 saves for Georgetown on 36 shots. The Raiders incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
