The Burlington Cougars (pictured - 2013/14 Burlington Cougars - photo courtesy of Burlington Cougars) are pleased to announce the selections for a new Head Coach and General Manager for the 2014-2015 OJHL season.

The Cougars have selected Rob Radford to take over the General Manager position. He has been an Assistant Coach and the Assistant GM for the past 4 years working hard to learn and create programs for athletes playing junior hockey. Robert has spent time as a coach and teacher in our community for the past 13 years. With his experience and background in education as a director of school programs in both the USA and Canada, we look forward to his energy, support and development of our Cougars players to be able to get scholarships and school opportunities.

Our new Head Coach Marc West is also moving up through the ranks as he too has been an Assistant Coach for the past 2 seasons and brings a strong hockey background to the team. Marc West is a Burlington Cougars Alumnus (‘82) as well as playing in the OHL (Hamilton, Bellville) and drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 12th round (241th overall) in the 1985 NHL Draft. He played professionally in Italy, Germany, Sweden, the ECHL and AHL. He and his family have been strong supporters of the community with all its sports programs, both participating and coaching.

The Burlington Cougars would also like to thank our former Head Coach and General Manager Peter Richards for his tireless efforts on behalf of his players to develop not only good hockey players, but fine young men. Peter is moving on to a new job in hockey and will be missed by all.

Congratulations to Rob and Marc on your continued efforts to provide opportunities for players in the community. We welcome you and wish you success in the new season.
