Wellington Dukes forward Mike Robinson (photo credit - Amy Deroche/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the UOIT Ridgebacks beginning with the 2014-15 OUA season.

The 5'11", 185 lbs. native of Stouffville, Ontario joined his hometown Spirit as a 17-year old in 2010-11, recording five points in 14 games played before his season was sidelined due to an injury.  He again faced the injury bug in 2011-12, playing in only 23 regular season games with the Spirit, but would return for the club's first-ever OJHL Championship run, notching 10 points in 22 playoff games to help his hometown capture the Buckland Cup title.

Robinson joined the OHL's Niagara IceDogs the following season and would spend a year and a half with the club before joining the Dukes in December and providing some much needed offence.  Despite missing a number of games due to injury he still managed to pick up 17 points, including 8 goals in just 20 regular season contests.  Robinson was also named the Dukes' Player of the Month for February.

"We are very pleased that Mike has decided to attend UOIT, continuing our relationship with the Ridgebacks," said Dukes General Manager and Head Coach Marty Abrams.  "Mike has provided experience and leadership to our lineup and has performed very well on the ice since his arrival.  I expect he will do the same at UOIT for coach Fisher and his Staff."

Congratulations to Mike on the commitment and best of luck in the Dudley-Hewitt Cup!
