HARQUAIL COMMITS TO SALEM STATE
Toronto Jr. Canadiens forward Daniel Harquail (photo credit - Shawn Muir/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Salem State University Vikings beginning with the 2014-15 MASCAC season.
The Toronto, Ontario native made his OJHL debut (then CCHL) as a 15-year old, playing five games for the Dixie Beehives as an affiliate from the Markham Majors Minor Midget 'AAA' program. He would score his first junior goal during the call-up and joined the St. Michael's Buzzers full-time entering the 2010-11 season. After notching five points in eleven games for the Buzzers, Harquail was traded to Dixie, recording nearly a point-per-game pace to finish fourth on the club in scoring as a 16-year old with 14 goals and 29 points. With the Beehives suspending operations following the season, Harquail was on the move once again, this time joining the nearby North York Rangers. He would spend the full season in North York, finishing seventh on the club in scoring with 29 points in 48 regular season games played, while also getting his first taste of post-season action.
Harquail would spend last season in the MHL, splitting the year between Woodstock and Amherst, before returning to the OJHL this year with the Canadiens. One of the club's most consistent offensive threats all season, the 6'2", 200 lbs. power forward finished second on the team with 22 goals and third in scoring with 40 points in 50 games played.
Congratulations to Daniel on the commitment and best of luck at the next level!
