TSOGKAS COMMITS TO RYERSON
Toronto Lakeshore Patriots forward Andreas Tsogkas (photo credit - Andy Corneau/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Ryerson University Rams beginning with the 2014-15 OUA season.
The Toronto, Ontario native joined the Patriots this past season after spending the previous three seasons playing major junior. A product of the Mississauga Reps 'AAA' program, Tsogkas was selected by the Brampton Battalion in the 13th round, 257th overall, of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection. He would play two seasons in Brampton, followed by a year with the QMJHL's Saint John Sea Dogs before returning home to join the OJHL.
The high-end pivot led the Patriots in regular season scoring with 31 goals and 57 points as the club captured their first-ever South Division and South-West Conference regular season titles. He would also be the team's leading vote-getter for the OJHL Fan Favourite Award. Tsogkas recorded another 16 points in 19 post-season contests as Toronto Lakeshore captured their first OJHL Championship with a six game series victory over the Aurora Tigers and another 3 points during a Dudley-Hewitt Cup tournament victory in Wellington, Ontario. Competing at the RBC Cup, National Junior 'A' Championship for the first time, the Patriots would disappointingly miss the playoff round, however, Tsogkas would notch five points in four games and earn a $500 RBC Cup Legacy Scholarship at the awards banquet.
Congratulations to Andreas and best of luck at the next level!
