CURRAN COMMITS TO WESTERN MICHIGAN
Aurora Tigers forward Johnny Curran (photo credit - Shawn Muir/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Western Michigan University Broncos beginning with the 2015-16 NCHC season.
The Niagara Falls, Ontario native joined the Aurora Tigers as an affiliated player during this past season's successful playoff run after having spent the past three seasons with his hometown Canucks Junior 'B' squad, including a breakout campaign in 2013-14 that saw him lead the team with 73 points in 49 regular season games played. Curran would join the Tigers during their North-East Conference semi-final series versus Cobourg and make an instant impact, scoring in his first Junior 'A' game. He would continue to play a prominent role throughout the rest of the post-season, recording three goals and four assists, including two game-winners, to help the Tigers finish as runner-up and capture the OJHL North-East Conference title.
Curran, who officially committed to Western Michigan during the playoff run, has officially signed and will play full-time for the Tigers in 2014-15.
Congratulations to Johnny on the scholarship and best of luck as he closes out his junior career!
