GILBERT ON 2015 NHL DRAFT FUTURES LIST
Buffalo Jr. Sabres defenceman Dennis Gilbert (photo credit - Ken Czworka/OJHL Images) has been listed on NHL Central Scouting's North American Futures List for the 2015 NHL Draft that will be held in Sunrise, Florida.
The Clarence, New York native made the jump to the OJHL as a 17-year old rookie this past season and did not disappoint, finishing second among the club's blueliners in scoring with 4 goals and 17 points in 35 regular season games played, helping the Jr. Sabres capture a second consecutive OJHL West Division title. Gilbert added three assists in the post-season as Buffalo fell in five games to the Georgetown Raiders.
Also named to NHL Central Scouting's Futures list are four OJHL alumni now playing in the Ontario Hockey League, including:
- Travis Dermott (Erie) - Newmarket Hurricanes
- Sam Harding (Oshawa) - Aurora Tigers
- Mitch Marner (London) - St. Michael's Buzzers
- David Miller (Sault Ste. Marie) - Georgetown Raiders
