2014-15 OJHL SCHEDULE RELEASED
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) today released its 2014-15 regular season schedule, while also announcing the Oakville Blades will host the newly expanded Governors' Showcase weekend for the second consecutive year.
The OJHL schedule consists of 594 games featuring 22 teams with inter-conference play continuing after being introduced in 2012-13. Each club will play a 54 game regular season schedule, one game more than last season due to a second round of games being added to the annual Governors’ Showcase to allow greater exposure for scouts.
Below is the breakdown:
• 26 home games, 26 road games & 2 Governors' Showcase match-ups
• Home & home series versus each club in other Conference
• Home & home series versus each club in other Division within Conference
• Remaining schedule versus clubs within Division

Beginning this season, the Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge has been modified and renamed the Eastern Canada Cup. Taking place just after Christmas the past three years in lieu of an annual All-Star Game, the event will feature the NOJHL, CCHL, QJAAAHL, MHL and the OJHL, and serve as a showcase in November for the World Junior 'A' Challenge that has been moved to December.
Highlights of the 2014-15 schedule include:
• Opening night is Friday, September 5, 2014 with five games on the agenda, taking place in Lindsay, Oakville, Pickering, St. Michael's and Trenton
• The newly named Toronto Patriots (officially dropped 'Lakeshore' from name) will celebrate their OJHL and Dudley Hewitt Cup championships at their home opener on September 6 when they play Oakville
• Following a one year delay, the Toronto Jr. Canadiens officially move into their new home, Buckingham Downsview Park Arena, opening up on September 7 versus Oakville
• The Burlington Cougars move into a new home, Appleby Ice Centre, beginning on September 6 versus Toronto
• Annual Governors' Showcase to be held in Oakville, Ontario from September 26-28, 2014
• The Buffalo Jr. Sabres open their new state-of-the-art facility, Harborcenter, in downtown Buffalo, New York on December 3 against Trenton
• The 2014 World Junior 'A' Challenge will be played from December 14-20, 2014 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan
• The regular season ends on Saturday, February 21 with six games to close out the schedule and playoffs beginning the following week
