PATRIOTS LOOKING FOR ASSISTANT COACH
The objective of the Toronto Patriots organization is to develop a hockey program that focuses on hockey players whose goals align with the achievement of academic excellence and development in the sport of hockey. The desire of our organization is to create a hockey program in the City of Toronto that focuses on individual player ambitions, both within and outside of hockey while creating an environment that emphasizes team work, respect and commitment.
Location: Westwood Arena (90 Woodbine Downs Blvd., Etobicoke) Away Games – Various Arenas Status: Contract
Salary: TBD Term: Contracted from August 16th – February 21st (Subject to Playoff Advancement)
Position Summary:
The Toronto Patriots are looking to build on the success of last season which included the OJHL and Dudley Hewitt Cup Championship. We are looking to add a motivated coach to our staff that will run our defense during games. The candidate must be able to attend all games and a minimum of 2 practices weekly. He will also be asked to conduct player meetings, run video sessions and scout games in our league and Minor hockey.
We are looking for:
A coach who is an excellent communicator.
A coach who will have the time to work in a dedicated Jr. A program.
A coach who will be able to act as a significant resource in evaluating and identifying players for recruitment.
Assist with any pre-game preparation and development of game plans.
Any additional duties that are assigned and agreed upon with the Head Coach are also an ongoing part of this role.
A coach with an extensive playing background such as OHL, NCAA or beyond would be an asset.
Qualifications:
Development 1 Coaching Certification (or higher)
Respect in Sport Certification/Speak Out Certification
Vulnerable Sector Search must be completed or completed upon hiring
