Brady's big game bests Trenton in 7-4 Kingston win
Behind a great game by Adam Brady, who had two goals and one assist, the Kingston Voyageurs defeated the Trenton Golden Hawks, 7-4.
Brady scored on the power play at 12:41 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 9:11 into the second to make the score 4-2 Kingston.
Kingston pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 29 penalty minutes.
The Voyageurs excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. Kingston kept Trenton's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Kapelmaster made 26 saves on 33 shots. The Voyageurs found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, Kingston averages 3.6 goals per contest.
Kingston additionally got points from Michael Crocock, who also had one goal and two assists and Alex Tonge, who also finished with one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Kingston included Joey Beaudoin, Colin Tonge, and Spencer Green, who each put in one. In addition, Kingston received assists from Ryan Watson, Matthew Clement, Alex Stothart, and Joey Rutkowski, who contributed one each.
The Golden Hawks were led by Nick Santoro, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Santoro scored 3:59 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Kevin Lavoie assisted on the tally. Trenton also had goals scored by Liam Morgan, Chrisitian Lloyd, and Hunter Fargey, who scored one goal each. More assists for Trenton came via Andrew Pizzo, Michael Siddall, Aidan Parker, Robert Smythe, and Brady Wiffen, who each chipped in one.
The Voyageurs' Matt Penta stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Kingston registered three goals on seven power play opportunities. For the Voyageurs, Cole Bolton was ejected from the game. Trenton ended with 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors and two majors. Team's Blayne Oliver and Zach Kercz were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
