Oakville rips Toronto Jr. Canadiens, 4-0

The Oakville Blades were firing on all cylinders against the Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens, and when the final buzzer sounded Blades emerged with a 4-0 win.

 

Toronto Jr. Canadiens' power play was ineffective against Oakville's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Blades were led by Ross Sloan, who racked up one goal and one assist. Sloan scored 1:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Oakville. Jackson Bales assisted on the tally.

Oakville's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Toronto Jr. Canadiens power plays. The Junior Canadiens were unable to stop the Blades from sending pucks towards the net, and Oakville eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Oakville also got points from Christian Rajic, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Oakville included Kamil Tkaczuk and Matthew Lippa, who each put in one. More assists for Oakville came via Ryan Burns, Josh Kosack, and Ryan Garvey, who contributed one each.

Toronto Jr. Canadiens could not produce up to its normal offensive output. The Junior Canadiens average 3.5 goals per game.

Daniel Mannella recorded 17 saves for the Blades. Oakville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Blades ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cole Robbins was ejected from the game. Nathan Colitto rejected 34 shots on goal for Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Junior Canadiens incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Toronto Jr. Canadiens, Will Lawrence was ejected from the game.
