Trenton downs Oakville in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Trenton Golden Hawks pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Oakville Blades on a clutch goal by Michael Siddall.
Siddall had a great game for Trenton, netting two goals. Siddall's tallies came on the power play at 18:38 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Trenton and 2:15 into the fifth to make the score 4-3 Trenton.
The Golden Hawks could not produce up to their normal offensive output. Trenton averages 6.1 goals per game. The Golden Hawks' offense rang up 44 shots on Oakville's net. Trenton found itself short handed often, totaling 34 penalty minutes and allowing nine power plays.
Others who scored for Trenton included Robert Smythe and Brady Wiffen, who scored one goal each. In addition, Trenton received assists from Tyler Donaldson, who had two and Matt Pizzo, Nick Santoro, Hunter Fargey, and Braden Hellems, who each chipped in one.
The Blades could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.
Oakville was helped by Christian Rajic, who tallied one goal. Rajic scored on the power play 11:10 into the third period to make the score 3-3. The Blades earned a power play opportunity when Santoro was put in the box for high sticking. Greg Campbell provided the assist. Oakville also had goals scored by Kamil Tkaczuk and Tanner Shaw, who each put in one. More assists for Oakville came via Brandon Hughes, Ryan Burns, and Matthew Lippa, who contributed one each.
Riley Brown rejected 24 shots on goal for the Golden Hawks. Trenton registered three goals on 11 power play opportunities. The Golden Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Chrisitian Lloyd was ejected from the game. Oakville's Daniel Mannella stopped 40 shots out of the 44 that he faced.
