Former OJHL stars Daniel Ciampini, Darcy Murphy (pictured/photo credit:  Bob Cornell/Colgate Athletics), Charlie Finn & Jonah Renouf have all been named to SB Nation's All-ECAC Preseason Teams for the upcoming 2014-15 ECAC season.

1st Team All-ECAC
F - Daniel Ciampini (Union College Dutchmen)
Stouffville Spirit/St. Michael's Buzzers, 2006-11

The native of Concord, Ontario played his first two OJHL games as an affiliated midget with the Stouffville Spirit in 2006-07, after being drafted by the OHL's Peterborough Petes at the 2006 OHL Priority Selection, notching his first two Junior 'A' points, a goal and an assist.  He would join the St. Michael's Buzzers the following season and spend four years with the franchise from 2007-2011.  After starting the 2007-08 season playing Junior 'B' in Manitoba for St. Malo, Ciampini returned to play the final 15 games of the regular season, recording 8 points, and help the Buzzers capture the OJHL regular season title.  Over the course of his four years wearing the 'Double-Blue', he notched 92 goals and 208 points in 154 regular season contests.  Captaining the Buzzers beginning in 2009-10, Ciampini finished fifth in CCHL scoring with 88 points, while his 42 goals ranked third among all players, earning a spot on the CCHL All-Star Team that competed against the CJHL at the 2010 Battle of Ontario.  He closed out his junior career by leading the Buzzers in scoring for the second consecutive year, 82 points to finish ninth in the league, and was selected as an OJHL South-East Conference 2nd Team All-Star.

1st Team All-ECAC
F - Darcy Murphy (Colgate University Raiders)
Trenton Golden Hawks/Wellington Dukes, 2009-12

The Marysville, Ontario native got his OJHL start in 2009-10, recording 19 points in 30 games for the Trenton Golden Hawks, while also suiting up in four games with the Wellington Dukes as an affiliate.  He joined the Dukes full-time in 2010-11 and was a key member of the club's march to the OJHL Championship, Dudley-Hewitt Cup title and spot at the RBC Cup, National Junior 'A' Championship that was held in Camrose, Alberta.  Murphy finished fifth on the team in scoring with 41 points in 50 games played and then posted 9 goals and 20 points in 18 games as the Dukes captured their second Buckland Cup title.

Entering 2011-12, Murphy was now one of the club's veteran leaders and go-to guy for offensive production.  Needless to say, he did not disappoint, leading the OJHL with 52 goals, while finishing as runner-up to CJHL Player of the Year Christian Finch in the scoring race with 86 points.  He would be named the Gongshow Gear North-East Conference Player-of-the-Month for October and was named to the OJHL East Division All-Star Team that competeed at the inaugural Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that was held in Smiths Falls, Ontario.  Following the season, the goal scoring machine was named a 1st Team  All-Star and the league's Most Improved Player.

2nd Team All-ECAC
G - Charlie Finn (Colgate University Raiders)
Kingston Voyageurs, 2010-13

Born on January 16, 1993 and growing up in North Vancouver, B.C., Charlie Finn joined the Kingston Voyageurs in 2010 after playing his major midget season with the Vancouver NW Giants ‘AAA’ organization. Finn helped lead the Giants to the Mac’s Midget championship, earning 1st Team All-Star and Top Goaltender honours, as well as the BC Major Midget League title before falling to Red Deer two games to one in the Pacific Regional Championship. With his father’s family native to the Kingston-area (Napanee) and his brother’s attending Queen’s University, Finn moved-in with his aunt when he got the call from the Vees and after appealing to Hockey Canada to play out of province (due to his being under the age of 18), quickly proved his worth to the club and has been nothing short of sensational ever since.

During his rookie OJHL season in 2010-11, Finn would lead all netminder with a 1.92 goals against average, also the sixth best average in league history (dating back to 1992-93), to cop Top Goaltenders honour in the league and be named a South-East Conference 1st Team All-Prospect. Finn finished with a 23-4-3 record, 4 shutouts and a scintillating .937 save percentage. After facing injury disappointment early in 2011-12, he returned and would lead the sixth place Vees on a remarkable playoff run that saw them knock off both the heavily favoured Wellington Dukes and Trenton Golden Hawks before finally running out of steam in the East Division Final versus Whitby.

The 2012-13 season saw nothing but the same from the netminder. Finn was named the runner-up for Goaltender-of-the-Month in October and February, while winning the award in January.  He once again dominated the league statistically, topping many of the goaltending categories, including his 2.15 goals against average, .941 save percentage and eight shutouts.  He was awarded his second OJHL Top Goaltender Award for leading the league in goals against average, won the first-ever Best Goaltender Award and was named the 1st Team All-Star, Finn was instrumental in the club's second half surge that saw them break into the CJHL's Top 20 rankings after going 17-2 from mid-December until the end of the year.  His final record on the season was 25-10-4, the OJHL's fourth best win total, compiled in 39 games played, while his 1,348 saves was also fourth most and he played the seventh most minutes at 2,374:04.  Finn's efforts backstopped the Vees to the fifth best penalty-killing unit, allowing just 33 goals while shorthanded for an 85.53% efficiency.  The club would post a league-high 10 game winning streak on the season, as well as a nine game winning streak on the road, helping them finish second in the East Division to the regular season champion Trenton Golden Hawks.  Finn was the starting goalie for Team Canada East at the 2012 World Junior 'A' Challenge held in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and was selected to play for the OJHL East Division All-Stars at the 2012 Central Canada Cup, but would miss the event.  After marching the Vees to the North-East Conference Championship Series, Finn's OJHL career ended following a game seven overtime loss to Newmarket.

All-ECAC Rookie Team
F-Jonah Renouf (Quinnipiac University Bobcats)
Milton Icehawks/Oakville Blades, 2011-13

The Mississauga, Ontario native joined the OJHL as a member of the Milton Icehawks in 2011-12 out of the Toronto Titans Midget 'AAA' program.  Playing alongside twin brother Nathan, the pair tasted immediate success and Renouf would lead the Icehawks in scoring with 23 goals and 62 points in 47 regular season games played.  His efforts helped lead the young Milton squad back to the post-season and earned him a spot as a 2nd Team OJHL All-Prospect.  Moved to the Oakville Blades during the off-season, Renouf would continue his success in 2012-13 and ultimately be one the league's top scorers.  He finished as runner-up in the scoring race with 94 points, which included a league-leading 65 assists.  Kicking-off the season with the quick start earned Renouf Gongshow Gear South-West Conference Player-of-the-Month honours in September and a spot on the South Division All-Star Team that competed at the 2012 Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge that was held in Wellington, Ontario.  Following the season, he was named a 2nd Team All-Star and runner-up for the league's Most Gentlemanly Player Award.
