Robert Polesello (photo credit - Andy Devlin/Hockey Canada Images) of the Vaughan Vipers recorded one assist as Team Ontario ended Team USA's 2-year run as the champion with a 5-3 victory in the gold medal game of the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge held in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Polesello recorded a 1st period assist on teammate Sean Monahan's goal midway through the period to give Ontario an early 2-1 lead en route to winning the gold medal.  This marks Ontario's first gold medal since 2008, after finishing as runner-up to Team USA for two consecutive years.

Polesello, who has committed to Boston University for 2012, captures his second international medal of the season, after winning silver at the 2010 World Junior 'A' Challenge as a member of Team East.
