Oakville falls to Toronto Jr. Canadiens in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens Junior Canadiens' Will Lawrence scored 1:37 into overtime to beat the Oakville Blades, 4-3 (OT).

Toronto Jr. Canadiens nearly gave up a two-score lead. The Junior Canadiens made it 3-1 on a goal by Lawrence at 17:58 in the first period. Oakville pulled to within 3-2 on a power play goal by Kamil Tkaczuk at 8:29 in the third period.

Lawrence had two goals to lead Toronto Jr. Canadiens to victory.

The Junior Canadiens forced Blades' goalies to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots and forcing 29 saves. Brendan McGlynn made 24 stops and Daniel Mannella made five.

Others who scored for Toronto Jr. Canadiens included Ryan MacSpadyen and Anthony Repaci, who each put in one. More assists for Toronto Jr. Canadiens came via Kevin Hancock, who had two and Matthew Ferrari, Kennedy Duguid, Andrew Mullen, Anthony Trujillo, Justin Maiolino, and Nicholas Jarzabek, who contributed one each.

The Blades' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Toronto Jr. Canadiens power plays. Oakville forced Toronto Jr. Canadiens goalie Nathan Colitto to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

The Blades were led by Ross Sloan, who finished with one goal and one assist. Sloan scored 11:31 into the third period to make the score 3-3. Christian Rajic picked up the assist. Oakville also got points from Tkaczuk, who also registered one goal and one assist. Oakville also got a goal from Ryan Burns as well. In addition, Oakville received assists from Austin Broadhurst, Tanner Shaw, and Vince Palermo, who each chipped in one.

Colitto rejected 33 shots on goal for the Junior Canadiens. Toronto Jr. Canadiens incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Oakville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
