SLOAN COMMITS TO PLATTSBURGH
Oakville Blades alternate captain Ross Sloan (photo credit - Kevin Sousa/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the SUNY Plattsburgh Cardinals beginning with the 2015-16 SUNYAC season.
The Oakville, Ontario native got his OJHL start as a 16-year old member of the Oakville Rangers Midget 'AAA' squad, when he joined the Brampton Capitals for eight games as an affiliate in 2011-12, recording his first junior point; an assist.
Sloan made the fulltime jump to the OJHL in 2012-13, joining the nearby Mississauga Charger, where he recorded 21 points in 48 games played as a rookie. Returning home during the off-season, Sloan made an immediate impact for the Blades last year, leading the team in scoring with 32 assists and 50 points in 54 games played as the club narrowly missed the post-season with a one game tiebreaker loss to Toronto.
Entering 2014-15 as one of the club's leaders, Sloan has continued his impressive offensive output, and currently sits fourth on the club in scoring after facing the injury bug this season, with 33 points in 31 regular season contests as the Blades look to return to playoff action.
