BALES COMMITS TO MERRIMACK
Oakville Blades forward Jackson Bales (photo credit - Kevin Sousa/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Merrimack College Warriors beginning with the 2016 or 2017 Hockey East season.
The Oakville, Ontario native joined the Blades fulltime this season after playing eight games last season as an affiliated midget out of the Oakville Rangers Midget 'AAA' organization. Prior to that, Bales had spent his minor midget year with the Brampton 45's and was selected by the Saginaw Spirit in the 8th round, 143rd overall, of the 2013 OHL Priority Selection.
Thus far this season, the 17-year old rookie has not disappointed. Bales has recorded 25 points in 43 regular season contests for the Blades to sit 10th overall on the club in scoring, and his abilities saw him earn a spot as a member of Team OJHL Oates, where he notched three points in five games, at the 2014 Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge held in Toronto. Most recently, Bales competed as a member of Team East, representing the host town, at the 2015 CJHL Prospects Game.
Congratulations to Jackson and we look forward to seeing your future in the OJHL!
