KRUSS COMMITS TO LAKE FOREST
St. Michael's Buzzers defenceman Ryan Kruss (pictured with Newmarket Hurricanes - photo credit: Tim Bates/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Lake Forest College Foresters beginning with the 2015-16 NCHA season.
The Thornhill, Ontario native is currently in his fourth season of junior hockey, having kicked-off his career in 2011-12 as a 17-year rookie with the Stouffville Spirit following a season at The Hill Academy in Vaughan, Ontario. Kruss would record 11 assists in 23 games played for the Spirit and would then spend 2012-13 as a member of the Cornwall Colts and Hawkesbury Hawks of the CCHL. He returned to the OJHL as a member of the Newmarket Hurricanes during the 2013 off-season and led the 'Canes defensive corps in scoring with 7 goals and 29 points in 52 regular season contests, 19th best in the entire league.
On the move once again, Kruss joined his fifth Junior 'A' squad in four seasons, moving on to the Toronto Jr. Canadiens entering this season. He would once again lead this club in scoring with 24 points in 36 games played, Toronto moved the blueliner to St. Michael's, where he sits third on the team with 27 points in 46 games thus far, also tied for 15th overall in the OJHL.
