Trenton Golden Hawks alternate captain Brady Wiffen (photo credit - Amy Deroche/OJHL Images) joined the exclusive OJHL 50 goal club this weekend after notching his 50th and 51st goals of the season in his 50th game.

Wiffen hit the magical 50 goal mark in impressive style, recording two goals and two assists during a 9-1 victory over the Pickering Panthers.  His 50th came early in the first period, beating Panthers netminder Austin Washkurak, with assists to Zach de Concilys and Matt Pizzo.  He picked up his second of the night later in the period and would be named the game's 1st Star for his efforts.

Wiffen becomes the first 50 goal scorer in the OJHL since Tyler Gjurich hit the mark during his MVP season in 2012-13, finishing the year with 53.

He also becomes just the second member of the franchise to record 50 goals, joining Mark Prentice of the then Port Hope Predators, who buried 56 during the 2005-06 season while leading the league in scoring.  Previous to the Golden Hawks, Noel Burkitt of the Trenton Sting tallied 52 goals for the club during the 1997-98 season.

The OJHL record for goals in a season is 75, recorded by Steve Walker of the Barrie Colts during the transitional 1992-93 season.  Most recently, Greg Carey fired home 72 goals for the Burlington Cougars in 2009-10.

Congratulations to Brady on the milestone!
