Buffalo Jr. Sabres alternate captain Ben Casale (photo credit - Ken Czworka/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devils beginning with the 2015-16 SUNYAC season.

The Lewiston, New York blueliner is currently finishing up his third season as a member of the Jr. Sabres, having joined the club as an 18-year old in 2012-13 out of the Jr. Sabres Youth Hockey program.  Playing only 35 games during his rookie season, Casale would show an offensive flare, recording 13 points from the back-end while getting his first taste of junior post-season action during a nine game run.

By last season, Casale was one of the club's 'go-to' guys and wore an 'A' on his chest.  He finished fourth among defencemen in scoring on the team with 15 points in 50 regular season contests and then posted five assists in 11 playoff games.  The veteran defender has been the club's leader from the blueline all season, setting career-highs with 4 goals, 15 assists and 19 points to help earn his scholarship.

Congratulations to Ben on the commitment and best of luck as he closes out his junior career!
