PICKRELL COMMITS TO CASTLETON
Orangeville Flyers netminder Wyatt Pickrell (photo credit - Kevin Sousa/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Castleton State College Spartans beginning with the 2015-16 ECAC East Conference season.
The Newmarket, Ontario native has spent the past two seasons in the OJHL as a member of the Flyers and became one of the club's integral components of their return to post-season action this season. After a tough rookie season in 2013-14 that saw Orangeville finish out of the playoffs and Pickrell post a 1-25-0 record, he returned with a vengence this season as the Flyers' starting netminder. He posted a 16-22-0 record, along with his first OJHL shutout, a 3.16 goals against average and a .916 save percentage that tied for ninth best in the entire league. The 20-year old then played all seven playoff games during their first round match-up versus Oakville, registering an impressive .927 save percentage despite the series defeat.
Congratulations to Wyatt and best of luck in his NCAA career!
