WILLIAMS COMMITS TO LAURIER
Georgetown Raiders netminder Marc Williams (photo credit - Andy Corneau/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Wilfrid Laurier University Golden Hawks beginning with the 2015-16 OUA season.
The Waterloo, Ontario native joined the Raiders this past season after having spent the previous four years playing Junior 'B' in the GOJHL as a member of his hometown Waterloo Siskins, as well as the Kitchener Dutchmen. Following his minor midget season with the Waterloo Wolves 'AAA' organization, Williams was selected by the Guelph Storm in the 5th round, 92nd overall, of the 2010 OHL Priority Selection. The GOJHL Midwestern Conference MVP in 2013-14, he made an immediate impact with the Raiders this season, splitting the netminding duties with rookie prospect Jack LaFontaine in leading the Raiders to the regular season South-West Conference title. Williams posted a 17-8-3 record with 3 shutouts, a 2.34 goals against average and a .909 save percentage during the season, along with similar numbers in five post-season appearances.
Congratulations to Marc on the commitment and best of luck in the OUA!
