BROWNING COMMITS TO WISCONSIN-SUPERIOR
Toronto Patriots affiliate Beau Browning (photo credit - Brian Watts/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets beginning with the 2015-16 WIAC season.
The Sarnia, Ontario native, who grew-up in Queen Creek, Arizona, has been well-travelled during his junior career, but his hard-work over the years culminated this past season with an OJHL Championship as a member of the Toronto Patriots.
After finishing his minor hockey career in Phoenix, Arizona, Browning would play two seasons of Junior 'B' in Osoyoos, B.C. of the KIJHL, before joining the Philadelphia Jr. Firebirds of the EHL in 2013-14. He would make the jump to the OJHL as a member of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens this past season, but would only play five regular season games before being moved to the nearby Patriots. Notching 7 points in 22 regular season contests for the defending champions, Browning would be released and joined the GOJHL's Guelph Hurricanes Junior 'B' squad for the remainder of the season.
As fortune would have it, his determination paid off when the Patriots affiliated him for their 2014-15 OJHL playoff run and he would play four games, registering one assist en route to capturing the club's second consecutive league title with a seven game series victory over Kingston, earning a trip to the 2015 Dudley-Hewitt Cup, Central Canadian Junior 'A' Championship that was held in Fort Frances, Ontario.
Congratulations to Beau and best of luck in the NCAA!
