OHA CELEBRATES 125th ANNIVERSARY AT AGM

The Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) concluded its 126th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday June 20, at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort .
The OHA returned to Nottawasaga in Alliston after three years for the 125th celebration of the association.
The 126th AGM was attended by 225 members of the Association and 97 voting delegates.
The meeting concluded two days of dialogue about issues impacting junior hockey in Ontario.
Brad Grant, in his first AGM as the acting Chairman of the Board addressed the membership on a number of topics, concluding that his board would strive to continue to create an environment where players could perform to the best of their abilities.
“Thank you to all those who took time out of there busy schedules to attend the 125th Anniversary AGM this year.” said Grant.
The AGM included the governing body’s Board of Directors, Officers, Life Members, League Convenors, Team Delegates, Hockey Canada Chairman of the Board Joe Drago, the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) and its Member Partners. The membership was shown a brief video from the June 6th OHA Awards at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Long time OHA Member and President of the Little Britain Merchants Hockey Club Art Field was awarded the OHA Gold Stick. A speechless Field was overcome with emotion after Chairman Brad Grant presented him with his plaque and Gold Stick which he proudly displayed later that day. The Gold Stick is the Associations highest honour.

In conjunction with the celebration of the 125th anniversary the OHA held a special Luncheon hosted by CBC’s Ron MacLean and radio personality Jim Ralph. Those who attended were entertained by both MacLean and Ralph for a few hours while enjoying a fantastic meal by the Nottawasaga Inn Resort Kitchen staff.
