GILBERT SELECTED BY CHICAGO
- Former Buffalo Jr. Sabre Dennis Gilbert (pictured in 2013-14 with Buffalo Jr. Sabres - photo credit: Ken Czworka/OJHL Images), now with the Chicago Steel, was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 3rd round, 91st overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft held in Sunrise, Florida.
The Clarence, New York native made the jump to the OJHL as a 17-year old rookie during the 2013-14 season and did not disappoint, finishing second among the club's blueliners in scoring with 4 goals and 17 points in 35 regular season games played, helping the Jr. Sabres capture a second consecutive OJHL West Division title. Gilbert added three assists in the post-season as Buffalo fell in five games to the Georgetown Raiders.
