Cobourg Cougars alternate captain Taylor Gauld (photo credit - Shawn Muir/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons beginning with the 2015-16 NCHA season.

The Whitby, Ontario native made his OJHL debut with his hometown Fury, playing five games as a 17-year old affiliate out of the Wildcats Midget 'AAA' program.

The following year, he made the full-time jump, joining the Cobourg Cougars in 2012-13.  Gauld quickly became a fan favourite for the Cougars with his strong defensive play, winning the club's Top Defensive Forward in 2013/14 for his speed and offensive creativity. An excellent penalty-killer with five career shorthanded goals in his three OJHL seasons with the Cougars, Gauld finished fourth on the club this past season in scoring with 42 points in 54 games played and ended his OJHL playing career with 89 points in 166 regular season games played.

"We are very excited to add Taylor to our hockey program," said Falcons Head Coach Jason Wise.  "We have had our eye on Taylor for quite some time and his work ethic, compete level, and offensive skill set are assets that will make him an excellent division three player. Our program has taken major strides forward by adding Taylor, and we look forward to seeing Taylor in royal blue and white this fall."

Congratulations to Taylor on making the jump to the next stage of his hockey career!
