Markham wins tough contest against St. Michaels, 3-2
In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Markham Royals escaped with a 3-2 victory over the St. Michaels Buzzers.
No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Prasnjak at 10:46 of the third period.
Markham was led by Prasnjak, who tallied one goal.
Markham also had goals scored by Ernst and Beltro, who each put in one. More assists for Markham came via Gilmour, Jones, Knight, and Avidan, who contributed one each.
St. Michaels' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Markham power plays.
The Buzzers were helped by Colton Trumbla, who had one goal. Trumbla scored 5:52 into the third period to make the score 2-2. A.J. Dorazio assisted on the tally. Kohler also scored for St. Michaels. Other players who recorded assists for St. Michaels were Evans, Kellenberger, and Cameron Wright, who each chipped in one.
The Royals incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. St. Michaels incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
