SHORE COMMITTED TO U OF MAINE
Whitby Fury forward Devin Shore (photo credit - Brian Watts/OJHL) will be joining the University of Maine Black Bears beginning with the 2012 or 2013 Hockey East season.
Shore made his commitment to the Maine program last February while a member of The Hill Academy, coached by former NHL netminder Frank Pietrangelo, out of Vaughan, Ontario. He would lead the prep team in scoring with 22 goals and 40 points in 36 games played against a variety of other prep, midget and Junior 'B' squads.
After being selected in the 4th round of the OHL Priority Draft by the Barrie Colts, the 6'0", 186 lbs. native of Ajax, joined the Fury and has been an instant sensation thus far this season, leading the club in scoring as a 17-year old rookie with 9 goals and 21 points. His played has not go unnoticed by scouts and Shore recently named to the Team Canada East squad that will represent his region at the upcoming World Junior 'A' Challenge being held in Langley, B.C.
Congraulations to Devin and best of luck out west!
