TEAM QJHL WINS EASTERN CANADA CUP
Jeremy Auger scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and QJHL held off the challenges of CCHL YZERMAN in a tough 2-0 win.
QJHL took over the lead for good with a goal by Auger at 15:28 in the first period. Marc-Antoine Bouillon assisted on the tally.
QJHL was led by Auger, who finished with one goal.
QJHL managed to stay out of the box better than usual, finishing with one minor for two minutes in penalty time. QJHL ended up below its season average of 4.0 penalty minutes per game.
Justin Bernier also scored for QJHL. In addition, QJHL received assists from Deven St-Hilaire and Jean-Philippe Beaulieu, who contributed one each.
CCHL YZERMAN did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. CCHL YZERMAN puts an average of 2.4 pucks into the net per game.
Sebastien Dube-Rochon made 21 saves for QJHL on 21 shots. QJHL registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities. CCHL YZERMAN's starting goalie, Ryan Coughlin, made nine saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Ian Andriano, who stopped five shots. CCHL YZERMAN avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of one power plays.
