2017-18 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) today released its 2017-18 regular season schedule, while also announcing dates for the annual Governors' Showcase.
The league also unveiled the Brant Snow Memorial Trophy that will be awarded each year to the OJHL Regular Season Champions. “Brant Snow was one of the longest serving Governors in the OJHL and the Board wanted to ensure that his dedication to not only Junior hockey but all of hockey in Ontario was honoured by the league”, said OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy. “Starting this season, the OJHL Regular Season Champions will be awarded the Brant Snow Memorial Trophy in honour of Mr. Snow”
“What an appropriate tribute to Brant’s memory”, stated Diane Snow, Brant’s wife. The league is currently in the process of the development of the trophy and it will be revealed once it is completed.
The OJHL schedule consists of 594 games featuring 22 member clubs with inter-conference play continuing after being introduced beginning with the 2012-13 season. Each club will once again play a 54-game regular schedule, including two games at the Governors’ Showcase.
Below is the breakdown of this year's schedule for each club:
- 26 home games, 26 road games, 2 Governors' Showcase games
- 2 home games & 2 road games versus each club within same Conference
- 5 home games & 5 road games versus other Conference
- 2 Governors' Showcase games versus other Conference

Following the success of hosting the annual Governors' Showcase in the U.S. in 2015 and 2016, the Buffalo Jr. Sabres will once again host the event this year at the state-of-the-art HarborCenter in Buffalo, New York from September 19-21, 2017.
Highlights of the 2017-18 schedule include:
- Opening night is Friday, September 8th, 2017 with six games on the agenda, taking place in Burlington, Markham, Milton, Oakville, St. Michael’s and Trenton
- The Trenton Golden Hawks will celebrate their back-to-back Dudley-Hewitt Cup championships on opening night, September 8th, when they host the Mississauga Chargers
- The Georgetown Raiders will be raising the banner to celebrate their Buckland Cup OJHL championship on September 9th in the second game of their home and home with the Oakville Blades
- On September 9th in Stouffville, the Whitby Fury will officially unveil their new logo and colours during a regular season game for the first time
- The Cobourg Cougars will celebrate their 2017 Royal Bank Cup championship on September 11th when they host the Aurora Tigers, who will be kicking off their 50th anniversary season on the same night
- Annual Governors' Showcase to be held in Buffalo, New York, for the third consecutive year, from September 19-21, 2017 at the HarborCenter
- The annual Eastern Canada Cup All-Star Challenge will be hosted by the OJHL from November 13-15, 2017
- 2017 World Junior 'A' Challenge will be played from December 10-16, 2017 in Truro, Nova Scotia
- The regular season ends on Saturday, February 24, 2018 with four games to close out the schedule
- 2017-18 OJHL Playoffs to begin on February 28th, 2018
- 2018 Dudley-Hewitt Cup, Central Canadian Junior 'A' Championship hosted by the Dryden Ice Dogs (SIJHL) in Dryden, ON from May 1-5, 2018
- 2018 RBC Cup, National Junior 'A' Championship hosted by the Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL) in Chilliwack, BC from May 12-20, 2018
