OJHL SEEKS A DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
The OJHL seeks a Director of Communications to start immediately and will report to the OJHL Commissioner. This is a part-time contract where a majority of your work will be done at your home office.

Duties and Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities
- Management of OJHL Website including posting of all stories, updates and announcements
- Directs maintenance and update of League’s successes and history, including player commitments to NCAA, CHL, CIS, NHL, NHL Entry Draft, as well as the Royal Bank Cup history.
- Monitor success and announcements of all OJHL Alumni receiving player awards in various leagues.
- Monitor and announcement of all OJHL player commitments.
- Manage and monitor all OJHL Social Media outlets including Facebook and Twitter accounts.
- Drafting of all league Press Releases as needed.
- Assist with the media and communications coordinating of all league events.
- Development of all Media and Scout notes for all OJHL events.
General Duties
- General administrative duties taking direction and working on initiatives presented by the Commissioner to move the league forward.
- Maintains positive contact with other Junior hockey Leagues.
- Other duties as assigned by the Commissioner
Essential Skills
- Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop storylines and execute across multiple platforms
- Knowledge of the content production & publishing process, and delivering on deadlines and within a budget
- Must have the ability to expertly and professionally handle all media types and independently troubleshoot on the fly
- Must be a strong executer who prides him/herself on driving successful, measurable outcomes
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma, preferably in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing.
- 3-5 years communications and/or media experience
- Knowledge of Junior A hockey within Canada
- Previous work experience in the team and league environment
