A series of stories on the team captains in the Ontario Junior Hockey League during the 2017-18 season:

The 'road' Captain for the NEWMARKET HURRICANES this season is OWEN RAMSAY. The 19-year-old from Toronto had one half of a season in Trenton before coming to Newmarket where he is in his third campaign.
Owen is no stranger to the position having worn the 'C' in minor hockey and an 'A' for Hurricanes last year. He is very positive about the season noting that with many new faces it took a while to get everyone together. But with a sound defense and forwards capable of scoring prospects for the rest of the way look good for the first-place Canes.
With Fraser Kirk back in goal he says the team is set at this position. Like 'home' Captain Christian DeDonato he is very high on new blueliners Cranston and Nabuurs and he also notes that acquisition Eric Eremita, a former Junior Canadien and Patriot in his last season in the OJHL, brings needed experience to the club.
He looks at second-place Aurora as one of the North Division's tougher teams this year and notes that there is a always a little extra passion when the neighbouring Yonge Street teams get together.
With one year left at this level, Ramsay is looking down the road at life after junior hockey but his commitment now is to help the Hurricanes get as far as they can this season and he is for sure setting the right example.
