A series of stories on the team captains in the Ontario Junior Hockey League during the 2017-18 season:

By Ron Valentine

In Season 2 as captain of the NORTH YORK RANGERS is KYLE CLARKE (Photo by Andy Corneau / OJHL Images) who is ably assisted by Nick Campoli, Ross Kreiger and Joey Marziarz.

In his fourth full season as a Ranger, Clarke hit a high-water mark in goals last campaign with 20 and 50 points in total.

Kyle has always considered himself a 200-ft. player and that's the way he will play this season, and if the goals come it's great. He has 12 to date, to go with 24 assists.

He feels that this year's edition of the team is the most balanced and talented he has been on citing the return of Campoli, Kreiger and two faces returning to the OJHL in Noah Jordan (an old teammate of Kyle's in minor hockey) and Grayden Gottschalk. Nick Leshuk joined the Rangers from Milton. Giant defenceman Peter Muzyka, 17, committed already to Cornell, was on the Central Scouting NHL watch list.

With the South an ultra-competitive division it will be a battle down the stretch into February.

Kyle feels he has been very fortunate in hockey and wants to continue playing after his junior career is done, hopefully in the States or on a U Sports team.
