PETRUCCI COMMITS TO RIT IN NCAA
Andrew Petrucci of the Toronto Patriots (photo credit – John Lewis/OJHL Images) has confirmed his commitment to join the Rochester Institute of Technology Tigers beginning with the 2018-19 season.
Petrucci, 20, has 77 points (40 goals, 37 assists) this season, good for a share of the OJHL points lead with Jake Bricknell of the Aurora Tigers.
The Patriots captain's scoring prowess earned him conference player of the month honours for September, and a spot on the league’s 1997-birth year all-star team that faced Team Canada East in preparation for their entry into the World Junior A challenge.
A native of Toronto, Petrucci attended an Ontario Hockey League camp with the Barrie Colts as a 17-year-old, before landing with the Milton Icehawks the next year.
In time split between the Icehawks, Markham Royals and Patriots, the centreman has 79 goals and 160 points in 134 OJHL games.
Petrucci is an alumnus of the Toronto Titans minor hockey system, and St. Michael’s College’s varsity program.
Congratulations to Andrew and best of luck in the NCAA next season!
